Lizzie spoke about her concerns of offices reopening after the Covid-19 lockdown, often having been unused for several months, and the subsequent risks of legionella.
I was so impressed by Lizzie’s passion and professionalism that I asked her to arrange to carry out a water inspection and testing at our Alice Charity offices before we reopened them. I arranged a subsequent meeting with Lizzie and she fully explained best practice in respect of water management in commercial premises and the accompanying landlord’s obligations.
I shared this our landlord who was so impressed that he advised SAS Water that he would not only cover the cost of the inspection that I had requested, but to extend the inspection to the full building – a winner 😊

Alice Charity was founded by Steph and her daughter, Emily Petts, to support families in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. It has developed a series of useful activities and offers practical support for vulnerable families in the area. This can involve meet-ups, support to access household items, practical help for young mums, and Alice’s People’s Pantry, providing food, baby products and toilets for families in need.
