Every building has risks and one that can sometimes go under the radar is the health of the water and the plant and equipment in the premises.
SAS Water Ltd has a team of water hygiene consultants, time-served mechanical and electrical engineers and commercial plumbers. Our work involves assessing risks and monitoring of water supplies, associated plant and equipment in a wide range of buildings, including workplaces, leisure centres, spas and hotels, schools colleges, factories and social housing complexes.
We were recently asked for support from Simon Tomkins, Vicar of St John’s, Alsagers Bank, St James, Audley and St Martin’s, Talke.
The church leadership team was looking for face-to-face legionella awareness training after receiving a legionella risk assessment from another service provider.
Rev. Tomkins said: “The risk assessment report told us to do lots of things we didn’t understand. We could have arranged some online training that ticked some boxes, but felt we really needed our team to understand what it was we needed to do to protect people. The training from SAS water was friendly, clear, comprehensive and well-tailored to our specific situation.”
Lizzie Ward, Managing Director, SAS Water, said: “Organisations are required by law to provide information, instruction and training for staff on legionella bacteria in their water systems. We provide tailored, interactive training courses suitable for all organisations and believe it’s vital to provide education on potential risks surrounding legionella and other water-borne bacteria.”
SAS Water’s training programme is registered with the Legionella Control Association.
